Dimetronic wins the bidding for a rail traffic contract in Turkey

It will manufacture the signaling system for the line between Ankara and Konya.

The Spanish company Dimetronic has won a contract in Turkey, which includes the installation of the ERTMS signaling and communications system for the high speed train connecting the cities of Ankara and Konya. The Turkish company Yapi Merkezi Insaat awarded the contract.

Dimetronic explains that the implementation of this technology “enables an improvement in the efficiency of control of the rail traffic for the line and, further, an increase in the safety of the transport network”.

The company, through Invensys Rail Dimetronic, will see to the design, manufacture and supply of the technology system that will control the rail traffic on this Turkish route. It will also be responsible for all the necessary testing of the system until it is put into service.

Dimetronic was founded over 50 years ago and has operations in Spain and Portugal. It is involved in all phases of the production process for railway control equipment and signaling systems (design, manufacture, supply, installation, implementation and maintenance). It is headquartered in Madrid, but the company has offices throughout Spain (Asturias, Barcelona, Bilbao and Zaragoza). Outside of Spain, it is present in Portugal, Turkey, Venezuela and Brazil. The company had revenues of €298 million in its fiscal year 2009-2010. It employs 800 workers.
