The Spanish company Solaer has started production at the Ichihasama photovoltaic plant in Japan. The facility, located at Kurihara in Miyagi province, began to send power to the electricity grid in mid-May, thus becoming the first fully functioning Spanish photovoltaic project in Japan.

Currently Solaer Japan has a 40 MW development pipeline. In 2014 the company will build another three projects with combined installed capacity of 3.5 MW.

Solaer is a Spanish company in the renewable energy sector. Founded in 2004, it has focused on the design, development and construction of solar photovoltaic, thermal and biomass plants.

The Group has already brought on line plants in Italy, Israel, the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Japan and Mexico. Its development pipeline includes projects in Panama, Peru, Chile and Brazil.

Work on this Japanese project began in January 2013. The company is well placed to become a leader in the solar energy industry in Japan, which is experiencing strong growth.
