The Spanish company will supply its RMCP technology to the Chinese firm Shenyang Hengrui. This technology cuts manufacturing cycles for composite materials used in automobiles.
Carbures designs and develops carbon fiber products for the aerospace and automobile industries, as well as for civil works construction. The company also offers consulting and engineering services for the aerospace sector.
It has now signed three, five-year contracts in China involving production lines for composite material parts used by the automobile industry.
As part of this agreement Carbures will supply seven RMCP (Rapid Multi-injection Compression Process) lines. This technology allows customers to cut production times for composite materials. Carbures is the only European company with proprietary technology installed in China that provides production line technology for the manufacture of composite components for planes and automobiles.
Carbures formed a joint venture in 2012 to manufacture and distribute carbon fiber components with local aerospace company Guanglian Aeronautic Composite Materials Process & Equipment Co.
In 2013 China was the fourteenth largest export market for Spanish carbon fiber companies. Sales to this giant Asian country reached €474,430 in 2013. In the first four months of this year exports surged 88.4% year-on-year to €173,920.
