This technology company has become one of only two companies in the world that is authorized to evaluate coverage and data transmission performance for AT&T, the largest telephone company in the United States.
Emite Ingeniería is a spinoff created by researchers from the Technical University of Cartagena Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT).The Spanish firm will use its reverberation chambers to test the data transmission capabilities of 4G mobile phones for AT&T. This US multinational has come to Emite in order to test cell phones provided to it by twenty different manufacturers, so the company can study their capabilities under different operating conditions. AT&T aims to assure that the company’s customers will have the best network coverage and the highest possible data transmission speeds.
In order to carry out this testing, AT&T will use Emite’s reverberation chambers which cost about €200,000 each. The confidence that AT&T has placed in Emite represents an important technical milestone for the Spanish company, after two intense years of preparation. It also increases the international reputation of this spinoff, which has clients in Canada, Europe, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
AT&T has over 110 million clients in the United States. 63 million of them have 4G cell phones, and their number is growing at a rate of 10% per year.
