The Spanish videogame industry recorded revenues of €313.7 million in 2013, an increase of 130% over the previous year. This tremendous growth was especially pronounced outside of Spain in both European and North American markets.

The Spanish Association of Producers and Developers for Videogames and Entertainment Software (DEV, according to its abbreviation in Spanish), together with Spain’s U-tad, the University Center for Technology and Digital Art, point out in their ‘White Book’ that more than half of these revenues (56%) are generated outside of Spain.
Europe is the largest international market for the Spanish industry, representing 24.3% of sales; this is followed by North America at 19.3%. Other international markets include Latin America, at 8.1% of revenues, the Asia-Pacific region at 3.2% and the Middle East with .9%.
In 2013 Spain had a total of 330 companies operating in this space. The industry forecasts sales will reach €723.6 million in three years.
