AirPersons has created the world’s first application for mobile phones designed specifically for psychological consultations. This app is already a leader on Google Play in terms of number of downloads and in China, where consumers can find it in stores such as Baodiy Wandouija.
The app from the Spanish company AirPersons gives users the ability to have psychological therapy using video chat on any smartphone, paying by the minute and without the need to use other applications like Skype. ‘AirPersons Psychologist Online has versions for Android and the iPhone, and soon it will be available for Windows Phone and Blackberry.
Thanks to this app, which was developed in Spain, 5,000 psychologists will be able to offer their assistance over the internet. These healthcare professionals believe that online therapies can help reach people who don’t have a clinic nearby, are afraid of visiting a psychologist or who have mobility problems. The service is designed to make it easy for patients and psychologists to correctly identify each other, and guaranty secure communications so that conversations remain strictly private. It also lets psychologists work without the need for a private office and thereby helps them reduce costs. On the other hand, if a psychologist does have an office it provides a way to offer additional consultations without the need to travel.
The app is already a leader in downloads for psychologists on Google Play and in China, where it’s available in stores such as Baodiy Wandouija. AirPersons has also reached agreements with other portals in Spain and Europe in order to license its technology so that it may be used to offer online consultations.
