The Spanish company will work on development of its mobile application for home muscle rehabilitation with electrical stimulation in Tel Aviv. Only 12 companies in the world have been invited to participate in this event, sponsored by Microsoft Ventures.

The Spanish firm Exovite will remain in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv for four months, where it will continue to develop a mobile app that lets users connect their devices to electrical stimulation equipment in order to do muscle rehab from home, without the necessity of traveling to see a physical therapist. This system promises to reduce treatment costs by 30%.

Exovite is one of 12 companies chosen by Microsoft Ventures. Its app will let physical therapists treat up to twice as many patients and also offer other services, such as the ability to chat directly with patients and take a look at the part of the body being treated.

Software from Exovite has already been recognized for other initiatives. The firm’s first development was to produce splints for injuries using 3D printers, allowing them to be customized for each patient. This project received a prize at Startup Pirates.

Being chosen to participate in Microsoft’s startup accelerator will allow the company to advance further in customer development and take advantage of services from the US technology giant in order to develop the application’s software.

The Spanish firm has already garnered an international reputation and its staff includes leading professionals in 3D printing.
