ABS-2, with 87 C-, Ku- and Ka-band transponders distributed over 10 beams and designed to offer direct-to-home and cable TV, VSAT, data and telecommunications services, will be the largest commercial satellite ever launched in the Eastern hemisphere.

Throughout its history, it has supplied more than 1,000 radio frequency equipments to be carried on board communication, earth observation, science and navigation satellites, to the world’s leading space agencies and satellite and space system manufacturers.
Mier Comunicaciones closed the year 2010 with new contracts for 18 satellites; ABS-2 is the first one with an Asian operator and the seventh with the U.S. company SS/LORAL.
