Currently, COMPLEX is being used by the Norwegian Navy, which purchased 5 Spanish F-310 frigates whose delivery will be completed this year. The application has recently received the international prize InterSystems Innovator Award, which recognizes those developers that create new ways to develop new applications, and integrate these solutions into their markets. The prize is awarded by a jury of prestigious analysts from the industry.
The major innovation of COMPLEX is that it allows the deployment of Advanced Systems for Ship Management, integrating standard IPMS functions (Ship Control & Supervision) with other functions, such as navigation control, generation and distribution of electricity, water purification, waste management, damage control and management (fires, flooding), maintenance, BITE, remote monitoring and supervision, automatic data transmission to shore, on-board training, and resource management, among others. COMPLEX expands the number of signals managed by the system, while maintaining its strict requirements in real time. Navantia´s systems have evolved from the management of 10,000 signals, with some difficulty of use, to more than 65,000 signals managed easily.
Navantia is the leading Spanish company in military shipbuilding. Given its size and technological capability, the company plays a leading role in European and global shipbuilding. Its industrial activity is divided into four business lines: shipbuilding, diesel engines, repairs and conversions and control and combat systems.
