All types of androids passed through the corridors of the exhibition site in Valencia where the fourteenth edition of Campus Party took place.
The second day of Campus Party in Valencia was highlighted by the presence of robotic experts from all over the world, such as California’s Bob Allen, a researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, and engineers from important Spanish companies such as AISoy Robotics.
Noteworthy was the coming out of the Spanish ‘AISoy 1’, the first consumer social robot, among the prototypes of advanced androids present at the Campus Party. This is the first robot conceived to entertain and keep people company, given that according to its creators “it’s almost a living being, capable of experiencing emotions”. AISoy 1 includes for the first time in a consumer robot the most revolutionary robotic technology: an advanced recognition system, a unique dialogue system based in its memory, ease of learning and the AIROS system.
AIROS collects the different events captured by its sensors (light, temperature, inclination, consumption, touch, audio, video, etc.) and evaluates how these affect its internal objectives (sense of security, energy, fun, etc.). From this evaluation the robot obtains what the company refers to as its “emotional vector”, that subsequently translates into an emotional response and mood. Each AISoy 1 acquires a unique personality, based on its own experience and the interactions that it has with the person, or people, with whom it associates.
Campus Party is the world’s biggest on-line technology, creativity, leisure and digital culture event. This annual encounter, started in 1997, gathers thousands of participants from all over the world together for seven days, equipped with their own computers. They share concerns, exchange experiences and carry out all types of activities related to the world of technology.
E3 Futura, the company organizing Campus Party, continues to expand the event internationally. It is now held in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia, and a version in the United States is being planned.
