The Research Center ITENE has designed a type of packaging that allows SRB to ship the panels that it manufactures at its plant in Almussafes to their final clients anywhere in the world, while maintaining intact the integrity of the UHV Collector.

SRB Energy is an innovative company based in Valencia, which operates in the renewable energy field. Currently the company, in collaboration with ITENE (Packaging, Transport and Logistics Research Center), has designed a type of packaging that permits, given the unique characteristics of the product, shipping the company’s UHV (Ultra High Vacuum) panels around the world while protecting their properties. Several panels have already been shipped to Central Europe (Munich and Geneva) and to different locations in Spain without suffering any type of vacuum loss.

In order to create this packaging, the Packaging, Transport and Logistics Research Center carried out an analysis of the product, the design of the container, laboratory testing and field trials, as well as a shipping simulation monitored by a vibration and shock sensor. The key criteria for the design were guaranteed protection and minimized transport costs, given that the company sends large orders around the world, transported by ship and truck.

Currently the Valencia company SRB Energy is participating in the construction of a large solar cooling plant in Spain, and has just inaugurated the first heating plant for industrial use in Geneva. The latter, built for one of the world’s biggest multinationals in the asphalt sector, can heat asphalt to 190ºC.
