As a prize, the Spanish company will travel to Silicon Valley (California) in order to present its business model to experts in innovation and development.
From among 40 technology companies only one was chosen as the winner of the contest organized by Madrid Network Challenge (a network of technology parks and clusters in the Community of Madrid). The prize went to the Spanish firm GCM Communications Technology, which works to improve systems of communication.
One of the qualities of the winning company is the application of its technology to telecommunications products (3G antennas, mobile phones and radar equipment), which need high performance and low energy consumption.
Thanks to this prize, GCM Communications Technology will be able to expand its profile in the United States, thanks to a one month stay in San Francisco, €3,000 in spending money and the publication of an article in Technology Review magazine.
The contest, promoted by Madrid Network with the collaboration of Opinno, seeks to assess those plans with an entrepreneurial spirit, and the importance of companies as the economic motor in the field of innovation.
Sources from the organization point out that the level of projects presented “has been extremely high”, making it difficult to choose a winner. The international panel of judges for the contest included Inmaculada Martínez (Opus Corporate Finance, London), Luis Martín Cabiedes (Partner, Cabiedes & Partners, Madrid), Saad Khan (CMEA Capital, Silicon Valley, California) and Shai Goldman (Silicon Valley Bank, Silicon Valley, California), as well as the representative of Madrid Network, Carlos Blanco, Director de Innovation.
