The final competition and prize giving will take place in February of 2011 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Solaiemes, a Spanish company that develops mobile communications infrastructure with proprietary technology, has been chosen as a finalist in the innovation category by the RCS Developer Challenge. This competition is organized by the GSM Association, which unites and represents more than 800 operators and the mobile ecosystem. The final competition and awarding of prizes will take place in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress, in February of 2011.

Companies from all over the world have participated in 3 categories for the contest, presenting products and innovations in the field of the Rich Communication Suite (RCS), the new multimedia messaging system that will be launched soon by mobile operators.

The panel of judges was composed of executives from leading companies, including both operators and large technology suppliers, with the aim of choosing the applications that offer the best user experience and the most innovative solutions, from both a technical and sales perspective.

For the contest Solaiemes presented the platforms with which operators can offer developers and companies the capacities of RCS, without sacrificing security or the privacy of their clients as a result, as well as finding new business models focusing on the mass market, which is still a long way off for smartphones.

RCS Solution Gateway offers easy to use web APIs in order to incorporate the capacities of RCS in applications for productivity, social networks, leisure, business uses…Social Media Plug is an example of a social application over RCS for low and medium range terminals, without installing applications.

Solaiemes RCS Thin Client Server enables enjoying the RCS experience simply with a web browser, without installing any additional software.
