In a move to court the oil-rich countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Malaysia, through Focus International, will launch a report entitled “Invest Malaysia 2011″ in the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abu Dhabi.

The report, to be launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at the Emirates Palace Hotel on January 30, targets the movers and shakers of the GCC market. It will incorporate the most renowned personalities of the country and will give a face to Malaysia through the voice of its key leaders and entrepreneurs.

Produced in cooperation with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida), the report hopes to aid the country to mobilise international investment by targeting key investors and partners from the most important foreign markets. The first of its kind targeting the six GCC countries, the report was produced by Focus International, a media company headquartered in the UAE.

“Malaysia and the GCC countries have enjoyed good economic ties for many years. However, the GCC still lacks key information on investment opportunities. “This report and event are a great platform to communicate what Malaysia can offer as a country and as a prime investment destination in Asia,” said Kamran Saddique, Middle East director of Focus International.

Focus International’s main business focus is to publish informative reports on countries around the globe such as the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia and Southeast Asia.

The 64-page report concerning Malaysia will present an insider’s perspective of the business potential, giving an extensive economic overview of the economy, sector by sector, based on facts as well as in-person interviews with key government officials and top company executives. It will be distributed with the Arabian Business magazine, the leading business magazine in the GCC states.

Arabian Business profiles the highest ranking individuals in the region and is distributed in the six GCC states. The launch of the report in Abu Dhabi is co-organised by Mida, Arabian Business, the Malaysian Embassy in the UAE and Focus International.
