The Telvent OASyS DNA system will allow Asia to keep up with growing energy demand.
Telvent, a company specializing in IT and information solutions, has been awarded a contract from China’s Shanxi Electric Power Company. The Spanish company will implement a new data acquisition system designed to optimize the management of the power grid in China’s Shanxi region, increase customer satisfaction and cut operating costs.
Energy demand in this region of China is growing exponentially. With Telvent’s OASyS Dynamic Network of Application (DNA), the Chinese company will possess a system that allows its employees to make faster operating decisions and improve the response capability for consumers in the face of any problems with the electricity grid.
Specifically, power operators in the country will be able to identify points of potential conflict in the grid and adjust power distribution to meet demand. Further, they will be able to carry out maintenance programs that assure the longevity of the grid. All together, the Shanxi region will be able to supply power more efficiently to its 34 million inhabitants. “China is a very important market for Telvent”, explains Ignacio González Domínguez, Telvent’s Chief Executive Officer.
The new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) from Telvent will also enable Shanxi Electric Power Company to comply with new requirements from the China State Grid Corporation.
Currently, the Spanish company works with over 500 public entities around the world (Europe, the United States and Latin America).
