The Spanish company is developing a solution that enables local entities to respond to questions from citizens, through the use of virtual assistants.

Leading edge technology is coming to local government. The Spanish company Oesía has designed a digital assistant (virtual mayor) that is able to answer the most frequently asked questions from citizens at local governments and other entities, in real time. This assistant, which is humanized in order to create greater realism, reduces the number of telephone inquiries at call centers by 25%, according to institutions now using it.

The virtual mayor answers the most frequent questions from citizens, such as dates for garbage collection and other public services. It even provides the forms necessary to obtain work permits. The virtual representative can interact with citizens by chat or voice, reading the replies out loud if necessary.

This solution is the result of an R&D project, financially supported by the European innovation program Eureka. Also participating is the Swedish company Artificial Solutions, a specialist in natural language interaction and client service optimization. Oesía is a technology company specializing in ICT services and aerospace engineering. It has consolidated revenues of €220 million, employs more than 3,500 people and is present in Spain, Portugal, Columbia, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, the United States, Panama and Cuba.
