The Spanish Confederation of Wood Processing Enterprises (CONFEMADERA) has presented the catalogue ‘Spanish Wood Works’ that provides information of the wide range of products offered by the Spanish Wood sector in the national and international markets.

The catalogue presents the reference companies in the wood sector in Spain. It includes references of 123 Spanish companies, associations and technology centers related with the wood sector, and a description of their main products. The catalogue aims at being a key instrument for communication and positioning of the Spanish wood sector in international markets.

The Spanish wood sector is currently undergoing a change to convert challenges into opportunities and to gain in competitiveness, with strong emphasis being placed on innovation and the development of technology and sustainability. The Spanish companies of the wood sector are increasing their capacity and international presence, and joining the global market by adapting business management, production structures and technology, in which excellence and competitive factors are defined by the quality, design and innovation.

From January to November 2010, the Spanish wood sector (excluding furniture) has exported products worth 885,7 million Euros. That represents a 3% increase comparing to the same period of 2009.

In addition to the Catalogue, a promotional publication about the Spanish industry of wood has been published in Monocle magazine (February 2011). The aim is to show the innovation, modernity and competitiveness of the Spanish industry. Monocle is one of the most widely renowned publications in the world, combining global affairs and business with culture, design and architecture. With a circulation of 150.000 copies, Monocle is present in 60 markets.
