The CETEMMSA Technological Center, specialized in smart products and materials, is promoting research into electronic systems and components printed on flexible media such as paper and plastic.
To this end it has created a cluster called FOLAEP (Flexible Organic and Large Area Electronics and Photonics).
The systems developed by FOLAEP will enable making devices by printing conductors, semiconductors, dielectrics and active materials on flexible surfaces such as paper or plastic. The result will be a new system of flexible electronics (organic and inorganic) for the low-cost mass production of antennas, batteries and multimedia screens.
The low cost of printed electronics will allow giving new functions to many products, in sectors such as automobiles, ICT, consumer electronics, textiles, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, biomedicine and food.
CETEMMSA is a technological center that is expert in the process of treating flexible surfaces in order to obtain smart materials, with which it is able to bring new applications to diverse sectors of the economy.
With over 19 years experience, the Center hopes that these advances will generate revenues for the sector estimated at $57,000 million by 2019 and, in the long term, of $300,000 million.
