Gamesa has signed a contract in Brazil to supply Gestamp Wind with 64 wind turbines, with generation capacity of 128 megawatts (MW). The company has also reached an agreement in Turkey for another 10MW.

Gamesa has signed two contracts in Brazil and Turkey, for the delivery of wind turbines with a combined capacity of 138 megawatts.

The Spanish company has announced a firm agreement with Gestamp Wind in Brazil, an affiliate of Gestamp Renewables, to provide 64 wind turbines with two megawatts of capacity each. The contract includes the manufacture, supply, transport, installation and commissioning of the turbines, as well as the construction work for the wind farm’s foundations. Gamesa will also provide maintenance service for the turbines during ten years.

The Spanish company explains that the 64 turbines will be installed in five wind farms that Gestamp is developing in the municipality of Lagoa Nova, within the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The turbines are expected to be delivered during 2014 with the parks entering production at the end of next year.

In addition Gamesa will provide Gestamp with five other turbines—also possessing two megawatts of capacity each—for installation in Turkey. As in Brazil, Gamesa will be responsible for the maintenance of the equipment.
