Airbus was present at the Singapore Airshow 2014, the largest such show in Asia, and exhibited a full scale cockpit mockup of its latest aircraft, the A350 XWB. Spanish company Mazel was responsible for building this mockup.
Mazel was chosen to build this exact replica cockpit mockup for the A350 XWB aircraft, which gives visitors the sensation that they are at the controls of the real plane. It uses authentic interior components such as navigation instruments, flight controls and cockpit displays.
Mazel completed the project in record time of only two months. The A350 mockup was successfully presented at the Singapore Airshow 2014, the largest in the sector for the Asian market, which was held from February 11th to the 16th. This was the first time that the Spanish company has used composite materials in a cockpit mockup.
Previously Mazel had built a full scale mockup of the Airbus A350 XWB that was 21 meters long and included a panoramic viewing screen. It was used in 2009 at the Paris Air Show, and soon after was exhibited at airshows in Dubai, Singapore, Berlin, Hamburg and Farnborough.
Mazel is an engineering group that’s been in business for over 25 years. The company began in the automobile sector but for the past ten years has been working in aviation, where it participates in most phases of aircraft construction. Its customers include Airbus, Astrium, Bombardier, EAS Industries and L3 Communications.
