Zertia Telecom is a Spanish data management and Managed Service Provider (MSP) for businesses. The firm has now been appointed by the Spanish-Saudi Al Shoula consortium to deploy the managed service telecommunications required by the companies in the group as they build this high speed train project connecting Medina with Mecca.

Zertia will manage the internet access, security and systems integration for the corporate applications of the fourteen companies involved (twelve of which are Spanish: Adif, Renfe, Ineco, Copasa, Imathia, OHL, Cobra, Dimetronic, Inabensa, Indra, Consultrans and Talgo) as well as their two Saudi partners. This group has been awarded the contract to build the second phase of the Haramain High Speed Rail project, covering a stretch of over 440 kilometers.

The second phase of the high speed Medina-Mecca train, which is also known as the pilgrim train, is one of the largest engineering projects taking place that includes the participation of Spanish companies. This phase involves the design and construction of the tracks and electromechanical systems, supplying 35 trains and a renewable twelve year contract for the operation & maintenance of the line.
