In a few weeks the 26th edition of BIEMH–the Spanish Machine Tool Biennial–will open its doors. This trade fair will take place from May 31st to June 5th in the Bilbao Exhibition Center, and include over 1,000 exhibitors.
In total 1,037 international manufacturers, importers and distributors have already confirmed their attendance at the event, which will offer a highly solid and representative showcase of products and services. Thanks to its renown both in Spain and abroad, which makes this Fair one of the top in its field in Europe, the BIEMH this year will be a strategic forum.
Germany and Italy, the benchmark countries for the world’s machine-tool industry, will play a prominent role at the event. Other countries represented will include Argentina, Austria, Belgium, South Korea, China, Denmark, Slovakia, the USA, France, the Netherlands, India, Israel, Japan, Poland, Portugal, the UK, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and Turkey. Foreign firms represent at this point 40% of the total.
The sectors occupying the most space at the event will be cutting machine-tools and forming machine-tools, accounting for 28% and 24% of the total, respectively. Other areas represented are tools, handling and robotics, welding, accessories, services, electronic equipment, other machinery, hydraulic & pneumatic equipment, metrology and CAD/CAM (computer-aided-design and computer-aided-manufacturing).
Even though there are still four weeks to go before the Fair begins, over 44,500 trade specialists have registered for the BIEMH, in response to the campaign to attract visitors targeted at agents, institutions and associations in the automotive, aeronautical, railway, renewable energy and capital goods industries, among others.
