The new material, called “KRION”, has exclusive characteristics, such as its extreme hardness, resistance, durability, ease of repair, low maintenance requirements and easy cleaning.
KRION is an innovative material made of resins and natural materials, to be used for making furniture, decoration, counter tops and coverings. It was developed as a collaboration between the AIDIMA Technology Center and the company Systempool from Villareal, which forms part of the Porcelanosa Group.
Among its exclusive properties are its great hardness, resistance, durability, ease of repair, non-porous surface, low maintenance requirements and easy cleaning. In addition to these characteristics, it is an anti-bacteria material that, unlike competing products, does not lose this property as time passes. KRION is also resistant to heat, sunlight and is 100% recyclable.
During the research for this new material, the company Systempool collaborated with the Technological Institute for Furniture, Wood and Packaging (AIDIMA), given the latter’s knowledge of furniture, construction materials and fire retardant systems.
KRION was one of the materials in which most interest was shown during the latest Surface Design Show in London, a trade fair which took place from February 15th through the 17th in the Business Design Show of the English capital. This is the only event in the United Kingdom focused exclusively on interior/exterior materials and finishings for the design of buildings.
