The company reaches an agreement with Adif, the Spanish Administrator of Railway Infrastructures, in order to make Spain a global technology powerhouse in high speed rail.

Indra will implement a research and development laboratory specialized in advanced solutions for railway traffic in Spain. To this end the firm will assign a team of twenty researchers, who will be incorporated in the Railway Technology Center (CTF), located in Malaga’s Andalusia Technology Park.

From there, Indra will develop its technology aimed at the control and management of railway operations. This will be possible thanks to the agreement the company has reached with the Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (Adif). The main result of this collaboration is the Da Vinci platform, considered to be the most advanced in the world for railway traffic management.

Both companies will also focus their efforts on railway safety, an area where Indra has built a new RBC system (Radio Block Center) in order to improve signaling within the framework of the future European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS).

With this new R&D laboratory, Indra reinforces its presence in the Andalusia Technology Park, where it has had a software laboratory since early 2004.

Both Indra and Adif expect that with this project “the Spanish railway system will be positioned at the forefront of worldwide high speed technology”.
