The Spanish company BILOOP TECHNOLOGIC has developed a way of identifying babies’ emotions and moods through their voices or crying.

The first application of this technology is the CRY TRANSLATOR™, which received the Gold Medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2010.

CRY TRANSLATOR™ translates babies’ crying, indicating if they are hungry, tired, unwell, anxious or bored. These five types of cries are universal for all babies regardless of their origin or language. The results of scientific tests with babies between 0 and 2 years of age from different origins were published in the journal Revista de Pediatría. “Some 96% of babies stopped crying when the recommended advice was taken according to CRY TRANSLATOR™”.

Incorporated into the iPhone, it indicates why the baby is crying within 10 ten seconds and suggests how to calm the child down. It even includes links to videos to help the baby stop crying, regardless of where you are. When used as an independent apparatus, the Cry Translator™ reduces the translation time for crying from ten to three seconds.

The Cry Translator™ for the iPhone has become one of the most popular medical applications around the world and is featured in the top ten in 40 countries.

Its small size allows the CRY TRANSLATOR function to be incorporated into numerous products. Independent prototypes and intercoms are being developed that can be manufactured and licensed without being associated with any specific type of telephony.
