The system allows an entire public safety organization to communicate via radio, so that any police patrol unit with a radio is always in contact with the communications headquarters, enabling them to take immediate action when incidents arise.

Encrypted conversations, mobile stations or patrol cars located via satellite. These are some of the applications of the Tetra digital communications system for local police. The program offers increased agility when officers attend to incidents while on patrol, as well as better security when transmitting data.

The installation of this network, carried out by the Spanish company Teltronic, benefits the safety of officers, who can be located at all times by satellite. Tetra is a system that serves to communicate via radio with police patrol units, allowing them to be in contact with headquarters in order to take action when any incident arises. The radio communication equipment enables immediate contact with, and finding the location of, patrol cars from headquarters. With a GPS system it can find patrol cars and mobile radios in order to provide them with information about the location of an incident without losing any time.

This makes the local police more functional, as the system optimizes resources and improves the quality of voice communications as well as the speed of data transmission. Further the equipment has an emergency call button which prioritizes a call from an officer above any other taking place at that time.

Teltronic is a leader in the design and manufacture of radio communications equipment and systems. It supplies solutions not only to the police but also to mass transit systems and sectors such as energy, mining, steel, oil and gas, among others.
