Technicians from the Aguas de Valencia Group have met with 20 university professors from Kazakhstan, in order to demonstrate the technology they use to improve hydraulic and energy utilization in Valencia (a city on Spain’s eastern coast).

Spain is at the forefront of water management and numerous countries have become interested in its technology. A delegation from the three major universities in Kazakhstan has visited a number of facilities managed by Grupo Aguas de Valencia in order to see Spanish expertise in this sector with their own eyes.

For example, this group visited the La Presa facility by the town of Manises, to see firsthand the entire process of water collection, treatment and distribution. This plant, along with El Realón at Picassent, is responsible for providing drinking water to the 1.5 million inhabitants of the Valencia metropolitan area.

In addition to these two drinking water facilities, the Group also manages eight others of similar size. Together they guaranty the company’s annual production of 200 cubic hectometers.

Thanks to its optimization of hydraulic and energy resources, the Aguas de Valencia Group saved 5.4 cubic hectometers and 3.2 kilowatt hours of electricity during the past year, thereby preventing 1,200 tons of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere.
