The company has built a photovoltaic plant in northeast Thailand, which represents the first facility in this country completely designed by a Spanish firm.
Thailand has abundant sunlight but no gas or petroleum deposits nor large waterfalls, thus making solar energy an attractive alternative. That’s why there are many opportunities in the photovoltaic sector. Solventia Solar
has constructed a plant in the province of Chaiyaphum with installed capacity of 1 megawatt (MW). It promises to produce 1,330 hours of electricity per year.
In addition to this project, the Spanish company is close to finishing two others: a 1 MW plant in the province of Nonthaburi and a .5 MW facility in Samut Prakan. Both are near Bangkok in central Thailand.
Solventia Solar opened a regional office in Thailand in 2012. Since then, the firm has been a main contractor for projects totaling 23 MW of capacity, as well as the single or EPC contractor (engineering, procurement and construction) for 2.5 MW of capacity.
The company also has an affiliate in Chile to cover the Americas region (Nazca Energías Verdes S.R.L.).
