Odilo has managed projects as significant as the first state network for lending eBooks from US libraries. Active Venture Partners is providing financial support in order to help accelerate this Spanish company’s growth in America.
Odilo was founded in April, 2011 in order to be a digital content management company. In only three years, it has been able to adapt itself to the market and today provides service to over five million users, who now have access to digital content from their libraries, high schools, universities, professional associations, companies and city governments.
Venture capital firm Active Venture Partners has recently provided Odilo with €2.2 million of funding so that the company can consolidate its presence in American markets. In the United States the Spanish company has been responsible for pioneering projects such as a state network for lending eBooks at libraries.
Odilo’s reach extends as far as Chile. The company not only manages eBook lending but can also include video and audio selections in its product offering.
Odilo was the first company to create an open platform for selling digital content in the Spanish lending market (OdiloPlace) and the first to create a library management system that includes management of physical books as well as eBook lending in one single product (OdiloTT).
Another of the company’s lines of business is the development of proprietary file management and electronic filing software for governments (A3W), which is already being used by the Spanish Supreme Court, Mexico’s Notary System and companies such as Pemex.
