This 100%-Spanish company is very respectful of the environment. Now it has created an alternative refrigeration system that promises significant advantages for companies that use it.

Atecan has designed an alternative refrigeration system that is highly efficient. By using a closed circuit it prevents the loss of water through evaporation, which allows the system’s condensation temperature to be lower. As a result performance is improved even during the hottest months of the summer.

Because the water that is used in Atecan’s system is not lost through evaporation, it not only eliminates the risk of releasing water particles that might be contaminated with legionella but also does not produce any atmospheric emissions. This makes the product very environmentally friendly and prevents it from contaminating.

In addition, not losing water to evaporation greatly reduces water consumption, which is one of the biggest drawbacks of refrigeration towers. The performance of the refrigeration equipment is also improved and its useful life increased, thanks to cooling the water at lower temperatures and a reduction in the level of deposits that can clog tubing.

Further, there is less risk of equipment corroding which lowers maintenance costs. Energy consumption is significantly lowered thanks to the reduction in the condensation temperature.

Atecan’s system is thereby able to offer an improved Coefficient of Performance (COP), which translates into energy savings of between 15% and 20%. This is a significant advantage for companies that are heavy users of air conditioning equipment.

Thanks to its small size, the system has a smaller footprint on site compared to conventional refrigeration equipment.
