A small company from Barcelona, Spain called Scytl has revolutionized voting systems around the world. It recently won the bidding contest for online election night reporting during the upcoming European elections to be held in May.
Once the European election results have been tallied, the Spanish company Scytl will provide viewers with graphs in various formats and adapt them for different media platforms such as radio, television and the internet. 27 countries will be involved in this election process, making the event highly complex.
The French Government also hired the company this year in order to ask something of two million French teachers: Scytl’s e-voting system will be used to allow them to elect their union representatives, in a process organized by the Ministry of Education.
Overall, 19 of the 21 countries which use electronic voting around the world have come to Scytl to buy the company’s voting solutions.
The United States, which is viewed as the toughest market in which to compete given the high level of competition, also relies on Scytl technology. What’s more, 1,500 of the 3,200 counties in the US have at least one product from this company based in Barcelona. 750,000 American government employees have been trained on the company’s system, and 44 million people have access to the election reports produced by Scytl.
